Founded in 2024 by Shawn Kamano who grew up in Nairobi's informal settlements dedicated to transforming lives, Raise A Man works with people across communities providing holistic & needs-driven activities leading positive social-change.

Raise A Man Initiative was founded out of a growing concern for the challenges affecting adolescent boys and young men in our communities.

As social pressures, mental health struggles, violence, substance abuse, and lack of guidance continued to impact the boychild, it became clear that many young men were growing up without safe spaces, mentorship, emotional support, or positive role models.

As we visualise the next 5 years, we believe that lasting impact begins with investing in young people today.

Every workshop conducted, every conversation started, and every young person empowered brings us closer to stronger families, safer communities, and a better future for society.
